Junggar area of western Xinjiang is a composite orogenic belt formed by the subduction-accretion in Paleozoic. In this paper, the authors focus on the study of the geochemical characteristics of the ophiolite in Labaxi profile, and consider that the ophiolite is formed in the Late Cambrian-Middle Ordovician, its emplacement time is in the Middle-Late Silurian, and the ophiolite belt is formed in a fore-arc or back-arc ocean basin environment. The research shows that this ophiolite belt has chromite obviously.
