In this study, the geochemical anomaly of high dissolved uranium concentration is found via alpha spectrometry present in the underground brines at the south coast, Laizhou Bay. The dissolved uranium concentration is in the range of 3.4~96.0 μg/L, and more than 80% of the samples measured exceed 30 μg/L. The reasons for the high dissolved uranium concentration are evaporation of seawater, reduction of manganese oxide, and remineralization of algae.
