Numerical Simulation of Formation Mechanism and Distribution Regularities of Structural Coal in Thrust Faults

In this paper, the softwares of FLAC2D and Creep model to Mohr-Coulomb model conversion technology are applied to study the distribution and change regularities of plastic failure zone in thrust faults movements caused by horizontal stress, and the formation mechanism and distribution regularities of structural coal in thrust faults are also studied. The results show that the plastic zone distributes in the coal seam in a certain distance to the fault, and the plastic zone decreases with distance, and the development degree and scope of structural coal in the hanging wall is larger than the footwall. The research conclusions provide a useful reference for the prevention and control of coal and gas outburst.
