The strength experiments of the Hunan clay under different freeze-thaw cycles were carried out in the laboratory. The strength characteristics experiencing freeze-thaw cycles were analyzed. Influence of moisture on frozen soil strength and displacement was concerned. The results show that higher water content means larger strength for the frozen or thawed clays. Freeze-thaw cycles have an effect on strength changes. The results indicate that strain hardening mostly occurs for stress-displacement curves of frozen or thawed clays with different moistures.
