Early-Middle Cambrian Burgess shale-type fossil assemblages are widely known from North America, Siberia and Australia. A number of important Cambrian soft-bodied fossil assemblages have been discovered from all over the world within the last decade. With recent discoveries of important Cambrian fossil Lagerstätten, such as the Early Cambrian Chengjiang biota and Guanshan fauna in Yunnan Province and the Middle Cambrian Kaili biota in Guizhou Province, China becomes a new hotspot for the research on the Cambrian soft-bodied fossil Lagerstätten.
