The existence of the old channel directly affects the type of the pile foundations when people select a place to build a new factory. The paper aims at exploring the potential ancient channel by seismic profiles interpretation, analyzing the profiles of the seismic waves of the typical lines and checking the exploration results from seismic profiles interpretation by drilling. Then, the direction of the ancient channel around the factory is located. All the ways are based on the variances between the ancient channel and the slipcover. The engineering projects illustrate that the seismic profiles interpretation is effective for the old channel detection in the range of depth measurement and the conclusion of seismic profiles interpretation is consistent with the geologic result and the borehole data.
