A New Model for the Thermal Modeling of Tectonic Evolution of an Extensional Basin

摘要

Homogeneous pure-shear model (McKenzie, 1978) and simple shear model and pure-shear-simple shear model for thermal modeling of tectonic evolution of an extensional basin are put forward one after another. High McKenzie model is characterized by 3D modeling based on fitting of calculated tectonic subsidence with theoretic tectonic subsidence. The thermal modeling of tectonic evolution of the Jeanne Basin in Canada indicates that the High McKenzie model can reflect better tectonic evolution of a basin.
