Located in northern Paleozoic terrigenous active belt of the Balkhash-Junggar microplate, East Junggar area experienced intense deformation and magmatism in the Late Paleozoic, which was the main stage of gold metallization in geological history. There exist three gold types, i.e., gold deposits occurring in Neopaleozoic tuff, graywack and turbidite; gold deposits existing in Hercynian intermediate-acid rocks; and gold deposits existent in Neopaleozoic volcanic formation, represented by the Shuangquan gold deposit, the Huangyangshan gold deposit and the West Shuangfengshan gold deposit.
