This paper briefly introduced basic ore-forming geological conditions, magnesium-abundance features and metasomatic mineralization alteration zoning model of the gold-bearing polymetallic megnesium skarn deposit in the Sanpu area, Huaibei, Anhui Province, focused on study of the migration law of Sr and Ba elements and Sr/Ba ratio zoning in the deposit, on the basis of study of a great amount of analytical data, discussed Sr and Ba migrating with Ca and K respectively, discovered Ba migrating from inner zone to outer and Sr in the contrary, firstly pointed out the Sr/Ba ratio zoning of the megnesium skarn deposit, determined Sr/Ba ratio 0.3~3.0 to be mineralization metamatic alteration zone, which can be a significant geochemical ore-prospecting indicator for megnesium skarn deposit.
