Quantitative Prediction of Precipitate in a Dams Drainage Holes Based on PHREEQC

Large numbers of precipitates are often found in the drainage holes of hydraulic construction and they have adverse effect to hydraulic construction’s security steady operation. Precipitate in drainage holes of a large hydraulic construction is a typical hydrogeochemistry phenomenon when ground water environmental changes. The PHREEQC simulation result indicates that when the amount of precipitate in unit length is situated between 0.030 328 kg /a and 0.912 361 kg /a the dam separation phenomenon is not serious. Quantitative simulation of water-rock interaction with PHREEQC, revealing the hydrogeochemical change process of precipitate, can provide a scientific basis for dam safety monitoring.
