摘要
In this paper,the authors first briefly introduce magnetotactic bacteria and magnetosome formation,followed by giving an overview of current knowledge on the diversity and biogeography of these bacteria,and their potential applications in the paleoenvironmental reconstruction.Finally,the new perspectives and possible directions are briefly discussed.
