Application of CFD on Designing Optimizing of Fidelity Coring Drill Structure

摘要

Low core recovery percent is a technical problem all along in some non-binding, loose formation. To design a kind of high-fidelity coring drill, the authors used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to make three-dimensional numerical simulation for the flow field inside the drill. Based on the analyses, the structure of the coring tool was optimized. It was proved that CFD technology is an economical and effective method on hydraulic structure optimization of drill tools.
